The shortest month of the year has come and gone and it’s once again time to tell you about all the things I’ve been loving recently. There’s only a few things this month but all have been on my mind or on my face lots throughout February.
Lorac Pro Palette
Oh sweet baby cheeses. I never thought I could love a makeup item this much but I truly do. It makes me want to wear makeup on the days when I don’t want to, just so I can apply this beauty to my eyelids. I can already sense myself hitting pan on the Taupe eyeshadow within a matter of months purely for how much I’ve already used it. The shade range, the number of mattes and the amazing staying power have me hook, line and sinker, and I’m already contemplating purchasing the Pro 2…
Gulabari Rosewater Toner
I bought this in India but have only recently started using it daily. It’s really nice on the skin, makes me feel super fresh and smells like roses. While I’m assuming it’s relatively hard to track down in Australia, I’ll definitely be scoping out my local indian grocers to get my hands on another bottle once this baby runs out (or just pinching the one I brought back for mum…)
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
As I handed over $25 for the world’s smallest bottle of primer, I was really doubting my sanity. I’d heard great things about this primer, but surely nothing can be THAT good that they can justify that ridiculous price tag, right? I continued that sentiment the first time I tried it out. Sure, it made my skin feel soft – but nothing out of this world. Yeah I guess it made my makeup go on nicely, but at this stage I was glad I bought the little one to try first. Then everything changed. I used it for a second time and it was like the heavens had opened up and the gods were smiling down on me. My skin felt like velvet, my makeup glided on and lasted perfectly through a sweaty nine hour hospitality shift. I’ll put it down to the primers performance anxiety on the first trial, but ever since then I have been hooked on this and am already crying about the fact that I will inevitably run out quite soon.
Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Toilette
Despite hating summer and almost everything to do with it, there are days when this fresh floral scent alllllllmost makes me enjoy it. I’ve been wearing this heaps throughout Feb and have received a lot of (mildly creepy) “you smell nice” comments. Good for attracting creeps and masking the horrible reactions my body has to this heat (27° at 1.30am? Come on Melbourne).
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
My book favourite of this month has been one that I’ve been wanting to read since it came out. I’m about halfway through now and the other day had to stop reading it in public lest I wet my pants from laughing too hard. A definite must if you are a Poehler or Parks fan like me.
If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late – Drake
Sneaky old drake doing a Beyoncé with his surprise new album! The cheeky bugger dropped IYRTITL on the DATE PLS and it has been on high rotation in my car since. I listened to Drakes last offering Nothing Was The Same on the way home from work at 2am many times last year, and with the similarities between that album and this one, I can predict that this one will follow a similar path. Energy is already my favourite song, but that’s mostly due to how much I can annoy my boyfriend with it.
Table of Plenty Nicely Nutty Crunchy Fruit Free Muesli
I’m not the biggest muesli fan usually as many are packed with nasties and excess fructose from the dried fruit. Table Of Plenty’s Nut Free Muesli is delicious and nutty and vanilla-y and really just a good breakfast, plus it’s fructose friendly and keeps me incredibly full considering I’m usually hungry again an hour after breakfast. 10/10 would recommend.
What have you been enjoying in February?
